Many initial reports called the launch a failure, but later reports indicated that it was successful. Some are claiming that it may have achieved “staging,” which means that the rocket’s three stages fired as expected. The third stage might have fallen as far away as the Philippines, according to reports. Hence, the claim of a satellite launch seems to have some credibility, at least in terms of the rocket not disintegrating.
