'Oh, what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive,' wrote Sir Walter Scott in his poem 'Marmion.'
And there's no better illustration of that than the current scandal unfolding around Joe Biden's cognitive and physical health.
Today we learned -- less than a week after I reported doctors found a 'nodule' on Joe Biden's prostate -- that the former president has full-blown 'aggressive' prostate cancer that has metastasized to the bone.
I was a hospice nurse. I know what this diagnosis means. So while media reports that the Biden family is 'reviewing treatment options' with his doctors, the prognosis is grim. In otherwise healthy patients, the five-year survival rate of this diagnosis is 33%.
This news comes on the heels of the ongoing scandal surrounding Biden's cognitive decline.
But it seems this was the missing puzzle piece all along, and one that helps make sense of everything else we've been seeing.
According to Dr. Jamin Brahmbatt, who appeared on CNN, hormone treatment for prostate cancer can exacerbate cognitive decline:

The entire post reads:
So you have to kind of balance that people can also get issues with fatigue and weight loss. But when he has stuff in his bones, he's also at higher risk for fractures. So it is it is a very sensitive conversation.
The part about the higher risk for fractures caught my attention. That's because five days ago, Twitchy reported that Biden's team considered putting him in a wheelchair but decided not to because of the fear that the optics would harm his reelection campaign.
Why a wheelchair?
Biden's unsteady gait and the deterioration of his spine put him at risk for fractures and injury if he fell. And, if he fell, he'd likely end up in a wheelchair.
This also tracks with what Dr. Brahmbatt said regarding fatigue, weight loss, and high risk of fractures.
It's unlikely that Joe Biden went from a 'nodule' on his prostate to full-blown aggressive prostate cancer with bone mets in less than seven days. Bone mets are a sign of advanced, prolonged disease.
And back in 2022, Joe Biden himself said he had cancer.

At the time, I -- like many others -- dismissed this as part of the ramblings of a man with dementia. Perhaps Joe was telling the truth, even if he (and we) didn't realize it at the time.
There isn't a doubt in my mind that the Democrats will use this cancer diagnosis as their cover to stop talking about Biden's health and the Left's cover-up thereof.
But this doesn't make the scandal go away. This makes it even worse.
Was the Biden White House also hiding his cancer diagnosis and possible treatment -- treatment that, according to a doctor on CNN, could have made his cognitive decline worse?
Did Joe Biden's family and the Democratic Party use and abuse a man with dementia and cancer to slake their own thirst for political power?
Who was running the country while the president was incapacitated?
And -- once more -- what did Kamala Harris know and when did she know it?
These are all questions for which we deserve answers. Because the Democrats had no problem running Joe Biden for reelection and -- had the June debate not revealed his true state -- they would have been perfectly fine with a demented, cancer-ridden man running this country until the day he died.
We cannot let this news distract us from getting to the bottom of the mess the Democrats created.
