Debbie Wasserman Schultz 'disgusted' by GOP's politicizing of Newtown families

No, that’s not a typo in the headline. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, chair of the Democratic National Committee, is disgusted that the Republicans would stoop so low as to use a photo of a Newtown parent in a political context. Just maybe it’s the context that has her upset; the photo appears briefly in an RNC video enumerating the setbacks dealt to President Obama in the first 100 days of his second term. Here’s the video:

Brad Woodhouse, the Democrats’ communications director, also found the video in poor taste, but his counterpart in the RNC suggests he take it up with ABC News, which put together the original clip. Further proof that ABC is just another Republican mouthpiece, right?

The Huffington Post’s Sam Stein raised the red flag.

Wasserman Schultz isn’t the only disgusted, but not for the same reason.

Now please, everyone, leave the families alone and stop politicizing Newtown once and for all … right after this tweet.
