Morning after in America: Administration gives up on effort to restrict Plan B

The Obama administration Monday announced it would no longer oppose a judge’s order that the Plan B “morning after” pill be made available over the counter to girls of all ages. Judge Edward Korman had ruled in April that restrictions on access to Plan B were “arbitrary, capricious, and unreasonable.”

Sarah “Local Crime Story” Kliff of the Washington Post notes that President Obama, leader of the anti-science war on women, personally remains opposed to the absence of an age limit.

Sen. Rob Portman (R-Ohio) is among those who still refer to 11-year-olds as minors and not women.

Girls and women aren’t yet free of all restrictions on their personal choices, though; minors 17 and under in New Jersey will still need parental consent to use a tanning bed, for example.
