Hands up: Congressional Black Caucus takes to House floor to discuss Ferguson

Following the president’s meeting with leading thought leaders on race like Joe Biden and Al Sharpton, the Congressional Black Caucus took to the House floor Monday night to address the events in Ferguson, Mo., and their aftermath.

Rep. Hakeem Jeffries brought the “hands up, don’t shoot” pose to the House floor, though it still pales in comparison to Rep. Bobby Rush’s donning of a gray hoodie to protest the shooting of Trayvon Martin.

Former OFA and Capitol Hill staffer Keidra King live-tweeted some of the other statements made from the House floor.

In one move that was more than symbolic, the CBC did express its support for body cameras for police.
