Laura Ingraham calls it 'insanity' that three of four refugees are on food stamps

Caroline May of Breitbart.com has scoured the Office of Refugee Resettlement’s Annual Report to Congress for fiscal year 2013, which reveals that nearly three out of four refugees are on food stamps, while just half of refugees who arrived in the United States between March 1, 2008 and February 28, 2013 are self-sufficient.

May writes that “nearly half were on some form of cash assistance and more than a half were on medical assistance. More than 20 percent were on Supplemental Security Income, more than 22 percent were in public housing and nearly 20 percent were on Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF).”

Reliance on food stamps varied from region to region, “with 88.9 percent of refugees from Africa, 91.4 percent of Middle Eastern refugees, 72.9 percent of South Asia, and 36.7 percent of Latin American refugees using the benefit.”
