File this bizarre clash of personalities under “No Pleasing Some People.” As the Washington Times reported, Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio on Wednesday invited PETA spokeswoman Pamela Anderson to join him in serving a meat-free meal to inmates at the Maricopa County Jail.
Arpaio said in a press release that eliminating meat has saved taxpayers some $200,000 each year, while Anderson has claimed that prisoners are eager “to learn healthier habits and understand compassion and empathy.”
Some aren’t buying that the meat-free meals, which made their debut in September 2013, demonstrate anything about compassion.
