'Assisted dying' now legal in California as Gov. Jerry Brown signs End of Life Option Act

California Gov. Jerry Brown “cleverly” called the End of Life Option Act “a matter of life and death” today as he signed the right-to-die legislation into law.

“Assisted dying” does have slightly cheerier and more compassionate ring to it that those other options. For just that reason, Mollie Hemingway, senior editor of The Federalist, asks that impartial journalists not use the term.
