Yes, her damn emails: House Oversight hasn't forgotten Hillary's IT aide who blew off subpoena

Anyone who spends any time on Twitter knows that one of the knee-jerk responses to any Trump scandal is to tweet, “But her emails!”

Now that the election is in the books — even Jill Stein has given up trying to find enough votes to reverse it — plenty of Hillary Clinton supporters are revising history and suggesting that their candidate was merely sloppy with her record-keeping, and it cost her the presidency. But it was no accident that she set up that private email server that let her correspond with everyone, even the president himself, off the grid.

Speaking of being off the grid, the House Oversight Committee has sent a letter to new Attorney General Jeff Sessions regarding Clinton’s former IT aide, Bryan Pagliano, who went from pleading the Fifth to not showing up at all to testify before the House Oversight Committee. There’s someone who really doesn’t want to talk to investigators.

As Twitchy reported, House Oversight Chairman Rep. Jason Chaffetz said last September that Pagliano would face (unspecified) consequences for “thumbing his nose at Congress” but that a resolution to the full House of Representatives to hold Pagliano in contempt wouldn’t be sent until after the election. CNN estimated that Pagliano could be fined up to $100,000 for not responding to the committee’s subpoena.

Just to recap: While Pagliano blew off his order to appear before the House Oversight Committee, Platte River Networks technicians Bill Thornton and Paul Combetta — who had that “oh sh*t!” moment and obliterated Clinton’s email archive with BleachBit, despite a protection order from Congress — did appear, but both pleaded the Fifth. But her emails, right?

Maybe we’re just obsessed, but we’d really like to hear what Pagliano has gone to such lengths to avoid talking about.
