RESULT: @AG_Conservative digs into a bogus WaPo story about Kavanaugh that had to be corrected

First off, we don’t usually plug GoFundMe campaigns or things like that on here, but check down below for @AG_Conservative’s Patreon account; he does good work, and here’s an example from Saturday.

BREAKING: 1 article was WaPo on Georgetown Prep, which falsely suggested that they were hiring an alumni director to deal w bad publicity from Kavanaugh story.

As you can see from the email exchange below, a representative for the school responded to the Washington Post reporter, Emily Heil, 8 minutes after she first contacted the school. He clearly told her the position was posted in July.

So in short, reporter Emily Heil emailed Brett Kavanaugh’s high school, Georgetown Prep, for “a fun little item” about the school’s advertisement for a director of alumni relations. The school wrote back within minutes saying the job had been posted in July. No story, then, right?

The response undermined the whole story that the Washington Post was creating, but they published it anyways. It wasn't until the Georgetown Prep representative called them out that night that they put the correction we now see on the story. https://t.co/9qyiALQX9W

I understand. My personal take is:

1) The story doesn't make sense given the date of the posting.

2) Unfortunate error. Mistakes happen & not trying to dwell, but should have been caught. I would hope that some safeguards are put in place to make sure it gets caught next time.

The date undercut the entire thrust of the story. You decided what to write and then ignored facts contrary to what you had decided to say. That's the opposite of how this whole journalism thing is supposed to work. And now you're blase about it. You're not helping yourself.
