Not surprisingly, Amnesty International (“fighting the bad guys since 1961”) strongly disagreed with President Trump Monday when he called the massive migrant caravan headed toward the U.S. border a national emergency. The group struggled a bit with its spelling, but it made its message clear: these are people with human rights.
The caravan is not a "National Emergy" or a security threat. Many of these individuals are fleeing violence in their home country with the intention of seeking asylum.

You know who else are people and have human rights? American citizens. And what assurance can Amnesty International give that none of these 7,000+ migrants poses a security threat?
Also, catch the disclaimer that “many” are fleeing violence in their home country. How many? CNN’s Bill Weir is embedded with the caravan and seems to think they’re all coming to the United States to get jobs as lettuce pickers, maids, and day laborers.
The "caravan" IS a national security threat. Anytime a group of thousands tries to storm your border it’s a national security threat. We do not know who these people are, their criminal histories or their gang/terror affiliations. Your virtue signaling is brazen stupidity.

Any real victims from Central America trying to claim asylum can claim it in Mexico. Mexico processes asylum claims in 45 days while feeding and caring for the people requesting it. The US does not border Central America, we are not their closest or logical asylum port.

It’s the same reason Canada is setting up intake camps on its border for migrants fleeing the United States; Canada isn’t supposed to grant them asylum as they’re supposed to apply for asylum in the U.S. But if they cross illegally into Canada on purpose, then Canada’s stuck with them.
Then, by law, they need to apply for asylum in Mexico. Stop the bull shit.

Why can’t they stay in Mexico? What’s so bad with Mexico that they can’t stay there and live? I watched a show on Netflix about Mexico and it seems nice and that people can create just as good of a life I keep seeing that they want to come to the US, but why? Is Mexico that bad?
