Geneseo Brewing Co. to honor 'Iowa Legend' Carson King with a new pilsner

As Twitchy reported earlier, Anheuser-Busch cut ties with hospital fundraiser Carson King, announcing that “had multiple social media posts that do not align with our values as a brand or as a company and we will have no further association with him.” Those posts were dug up by some toad at the Des Moines Register who somehow thought they were newsworthy eight years later.

That same horrible rag has had to report on King throughout the day, though, as Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds signed a proclamation declaring Sept. 28 “Carson King Day.”

Plenty of other businesses and charities stepped up to fill the void left by Anheuser-Busch and local brewery Geneseo Brewing Co. announced that it would brew a new pilsner named “Iowa Legend.”

Yeah, the paper’s been getting slammed all day long in the comments to every post, deservedly so. What was that reporter’s name who dug up the old tweets? Aaron Calvin?
