MSNBC's Chuck Todd says the Right is 'always' trying to appease white supremacists by saying, 'Hey, free speech'

You can always tell the elites in the media feel safe when they see something like the Department of Homeland Security setting up a Disinformation Governance Board run by a woman who dismissed the Hunter Biden laptop story as a “fairy tale” and say, this looks like a good idea. Here, MSNBC’s Chuck Todd and whomever he’s talking to a quick to note that the Right referred to this new unelected board as the Ministry of Disinformation. Todd says the Right is trying to “weaponize” the idea — but worst of all, as a supposed “journalist,” he seems to think there need to be curbs on “free speech.”

This isn’t surprising, though. As Twitchy reported, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul was on “Meet the Press” with Todd this Sunday and argued that you don’t protect hate speech, adding the (untrue) claim that you can’t shout “Fire!” in a crowded theater.

At the very beginning of the Trump administration, this editor was amazed by the number of editorials being published in major newspapers arguing that maybe we should take a second look at freedom of speech; maybe it’s not such a good idea. “Maybe liberals shouldn’t be such free-speech absolutists after all,” wrote Jennifer Dalton is WaPo.

He’s not.

Just as a reminder, here’s what the former CEO of Reddit said about free speech:
