In the old days, newsrooms had “desks.” There was the city desk, the sports desk, etc. This editor sometimes thinks he’s been assigned to the transgender desk because the stories just keep rolling in. Last week on NBC News NOW — NBC’s attempt at a streaming service — they talked about how abortion “access” impacts the transgender community and featured one transgender man who talked about his experience having an abortion.

Pew Research Center says 1.6 percent of U.S. adults are trans or non-binary, and we’d say that number is high. And we like how NBC News NOW files this under “Abortion Battle” in its chyron. Won’t someone think of the men who find themselves with an unexpected pregnancy?
