Ron Filipkowski tells us what the anti-CRT, 'Don't Say Gay,' and mask mandate protests were all about

We’ve seen this take before from plenty of other progressives, but Ron Filipkowski really manages to cover a lot of ground in just one tweet. Everything the conservatives have been doing about public schools, including those domestic terrorists who showed up at school board meetings, wasn’t to make public schools better … it was all about pushing kids into homeschooling and religious schooling. And we all know what homeschooling is about — it’s about taking children out of the diverse, inclusive public schools and indoctrinating them with white supremacy. Earlier this year, MSNBC warned of the insidious racism behind the American religious right’s “obsession” with homeschooling.

In 2020, one Harvard professor recommended a “presumptive ban” on homeschooling, saying it violated children’s rights and encouraged white supremacy.

Progressives are very concerned that fewer students mean less money for the public schools, which will make them suck even worse.
