I was hoping to avoid something like this, but it’s kind of big news. Donald Trump has released a statement on Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ blowout win over Charlie Crist on Election Day, and it’s not good. Trump recalls his endorsement of “DeSanctimonious” and says his actions as president kept his election from being stolen.
And now, Ron DeSanctimonious is playing games! The Fake News asks him if he’s going to run if President Trump runs, and he says, “I’m only focused on the Governor’s race, I’m not looking into the future.” Well, in terms of loyalty and class, that’s really not the right answer.
Consider me among those who considered Trump a great president and a horrible ex-president. Exit polls showed that a majority don’t think Joe Biden should run again, and they also showed that DeSantis is a favorite over Trump in 2024. We’re not sure what Trump expected in return from DeSantis … for him to bow out of 2024?

I voted for Trump in 2016 and I would have crawled through broken glass to vote for him in 2020. But dumping on a man who just turned Florida red is not a good look. I’m looking forward to a Biden vs. DeSantis matchup in 2024, with a huge blowout by DeSantis. Yes, I want to make America great again, but Trump brings so much unnecessary baggage to the table. DeSantis has already been vetted.
