Ray Epps interview transcript clarifies what he meant when he said he 'orchestrated it'

Former Rep. Adam Kinzinger tried to calm down all the “crazies” who believed Ray Epps was somehow involved with the FBI by saying that he’d interviewed Epps and found “Ray” to be “just another misled man.” Sure, throw grandma in jail for taking a selfie in the Capitol Rotunda, but dismiss Epps as a victim of Donald Trump’s mind control. We’ve all seen the video of Epps inciting people to enter the Capitol, but in his second interview transcript, he claimed he thought the Capitol would be open to the public on January 6.

Here’s a handy thread with some highlights from the interview, which you should check out yourself:

Yes, John Sullivan appeared on CNN as a guest of Anderson Cooper the night of the riot to give his impressions of what happened.

Epps says he received several ballots addressed to people who never lived on his property.

Rep. Adam Schiff asks Epps about the video: “What made you think that you might get arrested for urging people to go into the Capitol if you believed the Capitol was open?” “I don’t know,” Epps replied. “It was a heat of the moment thing.”

“I never intended to break the law. It’s not in my DNA,” he added. And apparently, he didn’t break the law, and that’s why he was removed from the FBI’s suspect database.

We can buy that Epps wasn’t working with the FBI. But we can’t explain the special treatment, still.”
