As Twitchy reported earlier, Michael Shellenberger posted a damning thread on the World Economic Forum and how it’s been deleting inconvenient web pages from its site. As Shellenberger pointed out, a WEF spokesperson claimed that the prediction that in the future, “you’ll own nothing and be happy” came from “an anonymous anti-semitic account on the image board 4chan.” It’s just a conspiracy theory, OK? Even the Associated Press has warned that some “bizarre claims” are coming from “a growing chorus who believe it involves a group of elites manipulating events for their own benefit.”
But we all know by now that conspiracy theories have a tendency to become true after enough time has passed. The WEF might have deleted the article, but its video predicting that by 2030 you’ll own nothing and be happy is still up:
