Ibram X. Kendi Says Whiteness 'Prevents White People From Connecting to Humanity'

AP Photo/Steven Senne

During the lockdown, Ibram X. Kendi was charging universities $20,000 for a one-hour Zoom call to tell them how racist they were. "White Fragility" author Robin DiAngelo has also made a killing for deep thoughts like these:

According to the ADL, "It's OK to be white" is a "hate symbol" adopted by white supremacists. So it's not OK to be white, or at least to say it out loud.

Ibram X. Kendi is back talking about "whiteness." Whiteness is bigger than white people (and can handily be applied to other "white-adjacent" groups like Asian Americans. What is whiteness? It underpins everything in the United States. White people are immersed in whiteness, but they don't realize it, like a goldfish doesn't realize it's in a bowl of water. The problem is that people of color are also immersed in this whiteness but don't benefit from the privileges it affords.

This is the guy Jack Dorsey gave $10 million for his Center for the Study of Anti-Racism.

According to Kendi, you can't not be racist. The best you can do is be anti-racist, with the help of his books, like "How to Be an Anti-Racist" and "Anti-Racist Baby."

… the Protestant work ethic, the written word, rugged individualism, the scientific method …

Yep.
