Dept. of Ed. says 9 million emails announcing good news about student loans were sent 'mistakenly'

Ever since President Biden signed the student debt “forgiveness” plan, courts have repeatedly put it on hold because it’s not constitutional. The latest smackdown took place a couple of weeks ago:

The Court of Appeals ruled against the Biden Administration’s request to reinstate the student loan bailout.

On Wednesday, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit rejected President Joe Biden’s $400 billion student loan forgiveness program which he appealed following a judge’s ruling to put it on pause.
[…]
This comes after the federal government requested to temporarily reverse a lower court order that blocked the rollout of the plan.

The plan will stay paused while the administration appeals an order from a Texas judge that declared the debt relief proposal unlawful after a three-judge panel in New Orleans ruled against the program.

In response, the Biden Administration has already extended the student debt loan payment until June 30, 2023.

The whole thing is on hold, but that hasn’t stopped the Department of Education from making some “mistakes” that just will just happen to help keep hope alive among those who want somebody else to pay off their loans and delay any negative feelings that could affect Biden’s approval:

The “mistake” only added “to the confusion surrounding President Joe Biden’s debt relief program”:

About nine million people received an email last month from the Department of Education that mistakenly said their application for student loan forgiveness had been approved, adding to the confusion surrounding President Joe Biden’s debt relief program.

Thus far, no one has received debt forgiveness because the program is blocked by federal courts. But there are some borrowers who were already deemed eligible for debt relief by the Department of Education.

The nine million borrowers who received the inaccurate emails have now started to receive new emails from the government correcting the error. While their applications were received, they have yet to be approved or rejected.

The follow-up letters must be angering some people. “Remember that email a few days ago when we said your student loan debt relief application had been approved and your debt would be paid off? Yeah, that’s not going to happen because the whole thing is unconstitutional and was done as a ploy to win the Democrats a few more votes ahead of the midterm elections. So thanks for your vote!”

There’s actually no “confusion” other than that the Biden White House doesn’t want people to think it’s unconstitutional, which clearly it is.

That’s what it was all about.

The Biden administration has been like Lucy holding the football for Charlie Brown (if Charlie had a lot of student loan debt he wanted somebody else to pay off).
