Hot Take: Japanese-American Relations on Twitter Got a Lot Warmer

Twitchy

It looks like Musk's people have opened the floodgates between Japanese and American X users. To say the experience has been positive is a massive understatement. We already think their Anime content is better than the crap Hollywood churns out and Japan loves our baseball. Now we're finding their sense of humor is great as well.

As Elon noticed:

Look, if the Japanese can laugh about it, so can we.

Here's the original, in case you're not interested in a cheap knock-off. Speaking of, this writer has long believed that the Japanese can take an American design, make it out of cheaper parts and have it be superior in just about every way. Example? Motorcycles.

The banter continued.

Sorry England and Canada, things just haven't been the same between us since you went all Muslim communist.

Translated:

Nuclear jokes aren't funny. Or rather, I think we shouldn't laugh at them. It's a tragic event where so many people lost their lives...

To be fair, the joke wasn't universally appreciated even though the original jokester was Japanese himself. There were a few of these types of responses, which, as a Japanese person, are valid.

On the other hand, the perpetually butthurt can be safely ignored.

Same!
