Like something out of a movie: Train derailment in California injures 9 [photos, video]; UPDATE: Reporter covering train derailment almost hit by car

An Altamont Corridor Express (ACE) commuter train in California running between San Jose and Stockton derailed last night after striking a tree that had fallen onto the tracks. The crash sent the train and over 200 passengers into a creek, injuring 9 with 4 listed as having sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries:

Luckily there were no deaths and all passengers were evacuated:

Service on the line has been suspended for the day as crews try to figure out how to clear the wreck:

UPDATE. Alex Savige, a reporter with local KTVU, was almost hit by a car while reporting from the scene of the train derailment. Watch:
