There was plenty of online rage directed at Metallica frontman James Hetfield over his support of hunting and narration of a bear hunting series. But his “sin” didn’t turn him into The Most Hated Person on the Internet.
That’s an honor Texas cheerleader Kendall Jones won handily when the vicious social media mob discovered her photos of big game hunts. Women like trophy hunter Corey Cogdell and Sarah Palin have also taken a lot of crap from anti-hunting screechers and left-wing partisans, as have high-profile men like Sen. Ted Cruz.
So, how would a random “60-year-old overweight dude” fare in comparison to 19-year-old college student Kendall Jones if he posted photos of his hunting trips to Africa on Facebook?
Would the Internet yawn and move on? Or would he be savaged with the same shutuppery and death wishes Jones is seeing?
