Sanctimonious Scripture-Twisting: Non-Christians Smugly School Christians with Stolen Verses

AP Photo/Joseph Kaczmarek

Another day ending in 'y' on Twitter, and non-Christians are using cherry-picked Bible verses to lecture Christians on their political views. It's ironic—people who don't believe in or follow the Bible are quick to weaponize its words to shame those who do.

Apparently, someone told Sara he is not allowed to help the poor? Jesus certainly never said that.

Of course he hasn't. He thinks Christianity is for idiots. He just wants to tell Christians how to act using our Holy Scriptures.

Christ specifically tells us our demeanor when we give is important. That means Christ expects us to give individually and do so joyfully.

It’s not just taking from others—it’s often taking from hardworking people who can’t afford to give and redistributing to those who choose not to work.

Jesus said Christians should heed laws and follow the rules of Caesar. He didn't say Christians should tell Caesar what they are going to do.

Oh, they understand, but if they were honest, they couldn't pound the Bible over the heads of Christians.

Few, if any, Scriptures support giving under coercion, as if with a gun to your head. True giving, as the Bible teaches, flows from a joyful heart, not from force.
