Klobuchar’s Push for Early Retirees’ Healthcare Subsidies Faces Fierce Criticism Over Taxpayer Burden

Yesterday, I mentioned Senator Klobuchar’s plea to help two able-bodied early retirees who want today’s workers to cover their health insurance costs until they hit 65 and qualify for government-subsidized healthcare. I’ve got little sympathy for this couple. Retiring early is great, and people should absolutely go for it—if they can cover their own bills.

My dad passed away at 71, and I’m grateful he took an early retirement package at 59. He was recovering from cancer, and when his employer offered it, he didn’t hesitate. It was a godsend. The reason he could swing it? His 20 years of service in the National Guard, which earned him benefits that kicked in at 60. He only had to cover a few months of COBRA. Thanks to his long service to our country, my parents could retire early without expecting other Americans to foot their healthcare costs.

It's wonderful to start new businesses and to retire early, but you must be able to manage your lifestyle if you make those leaps.

What a concept!

The Democrats don't want functioning government. They love this nonsense.
