When Governor DeSantis said he was pulling truckers who can't speak English off the road, he meant it. A few days later, my daughter-in-law who works at a Driver's License office told me they had received instructions there would no longer be driver's tests (written or skills based) in any language other than English.
DeSantis wasted no time. Today, Fox News released a video of a Florida Highway Patrol unit pulled a trucker off the road when he could not answer basic questions in English.

People who can't read basic road signs should not be on the road behind the wheel of a massive semi-truck. That's how whole families are killed.

It is really crazy it was ever allowed. The worst part is many blue states are still not on board with stopping it, so people can get licenses in those states and then drive into red states endangering everyone.

It needs to be federal and just not state by state. There are too many blue states not willing to do the right thing and it puts all Americans at risk.

Absolutely! Trucking companies must be held responsible for who they allow to drive their trucks. They are the first line of defense in keeping our roads safe.

Pulling them off the road immediately keeps them from harming someone in the immediate. Hopefully, the state will follow up and suspend the CDL permanently so they can't legally drive a semi again. Then, if the trucking company allows them to drive, there should be legal consequences.
I would like to be able to drive on the roads without worrying about noncitizens and illegals ending my existence in an 80,000 pound road missile, that they should not be driving, because people like cheap labor.
