The Left Keeps Predicting Florida’s Doom, Reality Keeps Proving Them Wrong

NOAA via AP

As a lifelong Native Floridian, I’ve weathered more hurricanes than I can count. Some years they come one after another, and other years—like this past blessed one—we don’t see a single one.

What I love most about Florida is that we almost always get plenty of warning before a storm hits. That’s a luxury you don’t have with earthquakes, tornadoes, or wildfires.

Beyond that, we enjoy near-perfect weather for most of the year (June through August excluded, of course), no state income tax, a government that actually leans conservative, and the magic of Disney World right in our backyard.

Hurricanes and all… it’s still the greatest place on Earth.

For years, the Left has predicted Florida’s impending collapse: Miami underwater, endless hurricanes, total catastrophe.

Miami is still high and dry. And despite their claims, we are not experiencing more hurricanes than ever. It’s simply not true.

When presented with evidence, it's still not enough to sway them from their preconceived notions.

Funny how that happens.

Isn't that convenient for them?

This is a fair take.

That’s just how it goes. There are bad hurricane years and there are good ones, but there’s nothing new under the sun. Storms have come and gone for centuries. Some years are worse than others — that’s always been true.

The Left can keep sounding the alarm and predicting Florida’s demise, but the facts haven’t changed. Florida remains a paradise with beautiful weather, no state income tax, conservative leadership, and world-class attractions. We’ll keep riding out the occasional storm and enjoying everything this state has to offer.
