New ‘Maryland Man’ Joins ‘Virginia Dad’ in the Headlines

Move over, Kilmar Abrego Garcia, another Maryland man is making the headlines. This one says he was detained for a month after D.C. police lured him into custody. The cops called him to pick up his stolen car, but then wham! ICE was there.

NBC 4 Washington reports:

A Maryland man detained by immigration officials for a month says D.C. police coordinated with immigration agents to lure him to a police station and take him into custody.

Late last year, after 37-year-old Jose Argueta reported the theft of his car to Montgomery County police, he received a call from D.C. police saying they'd recovered his car and he could pick it up at the Fifth District station, his attorney said.

But when Argueta walked into the police station, he was placed in custody by ICE agents, the Washington Post first reported.

“It appears even more clear than before that there was impermissible sharing of information that we think is in violation of the Sanctuary Values Act, in addition to the fact that the arrest by ICE occurred at an MPD police station, literally inside of it, which is a separate violation of the Sanctuary Values Act,” attorney Austin Rose of the Amica Center for Immigrant Rights said.

Sanctuary Values Act? Never heard of it. This reminds us of The New York Times crying not so long ago that TSA had alerted ICE about that illegal alien who was detained in a public display at the San Francisco International Airport.

We read NBC 4's whole piece, and never once do they mention the immigration status of the Maryland man. Three paragraphs from the end, the report states, "Argueta was held for about a month before being released. He still faces removal proceedings." So we're guessing he's an illegal alien. The story doesn't even say where from.

Maryland man finds himself joined in the headlines by "Virginia dad," who's accused of killing his own three-month-old.

The post continues:

… the Biden administration.

The lengths that @wusa9 and the mainstream media will go to run cover for criminal illegal aliens is astonishing.

Will they honor the ICE detainer and hand him over?

That's not a bad strategy.
