The news yesterday that President Trump had fired Attorney General Pam Bondi had barely been announced before rumors started swirling about who would replace her. For now, Deputy AG Todd Blanche has assumed an interim position, but there has been a huge (YUGE, even) groundswell of support already for Harmeet Dhillon, the Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights.
Most of the complaints about Bondi (from the right, anyway) centered around the fact that she was not moving quickly enough to prosecute lawbreaking Democrat politicians -- and, of course, her failed handling of the Epstein files. No one has similar complaints about Dhillon, who has been, pardon the expression, kicking a** and taking names at Civil Rights. She and her team have been putting corrupt states on notice -- and on trial -- for fraudulent voter rolls and election fraud, violations of Title IX, and attempts to restrict Second Amendment rights, just to name a few of her priorities.
But if Trump needed another reason to seriously consider Dhillon for the top spot at DOJ, there is perhaps none better than the fact that corrupt, disgraced Clinton lawyer Marc Elias hates her.
As head of the Civil Rights Division — the unit historically responsible for enforcing federal voting rights law — Dhillon has overseen a dramatic shift away from protecting voting rights towards attacking them. https://t.co/R11FaddVBP

Attacking voter rights? How? By making sure only people eligible to vote are able to vote?
This condemnation didn't go well for Elias, who Twitchy managing editor Sam Janney has often and accurately described as 'a boil on the butt of humanity.'
(She's got a way with words, doesn't she?)
If Cheater McCheater-Face Elias is bitching, Harmeet is doing a great job. https://t.co/wkNR5q0JgA

LOL. 'Cheater McCheater-Face' works for us, too.

We agree as well.
The comments and replies weren't going the way Elias hoped they would go.
I read the entire article and at the end you list only 3 points again @AAGDhillon and all 3 make me want her as AG even more:
— Matt Van Swol (@mattvanswol) April 2, 2026
1) Asking states for voter rolls
This is necessary to ensure election integrity... pretty obviously good
2) Mail-in voting crackdown
Mail-in ballots…
The third point Matt Van Swol made was about gerrymandering, and Governor Abigail Spanberger is probably about to get sued by the Civil Rights Division very soon, depending on how the vote in Virginia goes on April 21.
All evidence to the contrary. The fact that you don’t like her means she is perfect for the job.

We can't think of a more ringing endorsement, unless both Tim Walz and Gavin Newsom, America's leading governors when it comes to defrauding taxpayers, also came out against her becoming the AG.
Love this endorsement of Harmeet. If Elias hates her that much she must be doing something awesome. https://t.co/tpjFUR1kij
— Ned Ryun (@nedryun) April 3, 2026
She is doing many, many awesome things.
And that's not even counting all of her posts about her cooking, her garden, and her knitting.
She is not afraid of you https://t.co/eb2vWREGZU

Dhillon is not afraid of ANYONE on the left. She has also proven that she can take on some of the worst critics who are (allegedly) on the right.
If this evil empty suit is trashing Harmeet, than Harmeet is who we want! https://t.co/PbusCfQn4d

Many conservatives (including ... ahem ... this writer) thought she should have been Trump's first choice long ago.
@AAGDhillon has more integrity in her pinky finger than all you election fraudsters combined, @marceelias. pic.twitter.com/qK4qZS768P

Someone might need to buy Elias one of those word-a-day calendars. We're pretty sure he's never heard of that word 'integrity' ever in his entire corrupt adult life.
She’s cleaning up the voter rolls as required by law to protect US citizens. We don’t need illegals and dead people voting and canceling out the votes of American citizens. She’ll be perfect as Attorney General
— Jean (@jazziejaf) April 2, 2026
The only downside to Dhillon becoming Attorney General is that we would lose her as the head of the Civil Rights Division.
But, like any good leader, she has assembled an exceptional team, including her principal deputy assistant, Jesus Osete.
Pretty sure Scott Adams would’ve called this a positive endorsement for Dhillon https://t.co/YqDzNoQUh5

LOL.
Yes, he would have. (Also, we miss you, Scott.)
THIS IS ENOUGH FOR ME!!!! 👇👇@AAGDhillon FOR AG!!!!! @HarmeetKDhillon https://t.co/sQAvZxlyGV

It should be enough for anyone who, unlike Elias, believes in the rule of law, election integrity, and harsh punishment and accountability for criminals, fraudsters, and lawbreakers -- like Marc Elias.
We don't know who is on the President's short list to succeed Bondi, but we sure hope that Harmeet Dhillon is at the top of it.
We know how much Trump loves to troll the left, so maybe if someone tells him how hard it will make Elias cry, that will cinch his decision.
