According to the bio on her website, “Nancy Jo Sales is a New York Times bestselling author and award-winning journalist.” And that may very well be the case.
What the bio fails to mention is that she is also insane.
While a whole lot of people were busy enjoying last night’s Super Bowl, Nancy was busy asking questions that literally no one else was asking:
What is football? What are cheerleaders? How do they connect to misogyny, militarism and rape culture? Are we allowed to ask these questions today? When Americans are enjoying they bread and cheeses dishes and beer? Not unless we want to have our throats slit.

Yeah, this isn’t dissing football. Plenty of people don’t care about football. But it’s a safe bet that even most of those people’s minds don’t see a direct line from football to misogyny, militarism, and rape culture, and they’re not too worried about having their throats slit while eating cheese.
Interesting when just asking questions—or actually *not* asking questions—brings out such defensiveness…. Whew, America ?
