Dan Rather is not a real journalist, but he played one on TV for decades.
Now he’s playing a concerned citizen on Twitter.
And he’s calling on somebody — anybody — to stop the madness:

Was he ever?
Plenty of people who care about children understand the harm — irreparable in some cases — that has been done to children by keeping them out of school, away from friends, masked up, and effectively beholden to the whims of a highly politicized CDC and teachers’ unions whose concern is decidedly not the children.
If there's new or emerging evidence that kids are suddenly threatened by COVID, somebody really ought to share it.
