But we don’t have to wonder. The man himself explains that he was simply trying to smear the Tea Party:

Hey, Howard: The national debt has increased more under President  Barack Obama than under President George W. Bush. How exactly is that the Tea Party’s fault?

(And don’t blame Republicans in Congress. The Democrats dominated both chambers during the first two years of Obama’s presidency.)

Sounds like Fineman is channeling actor Jason Alexlander.
